Data Deletion
Trailume lets you disconnect Strava or delete your Trailume profile from the app.
Back to TrailumeDisconnect Strava
To disconnect, open the dashboard while signed in with Strava and use the Disconnect from Strava button in the connection panel.
What Disconnect Does
- Revokes active Trailume session state for your user and clears the Trailume session cookie.
- Marks the connected Strava account as disconnected in Trailume.
- Deletes stored Strava token rows for the disconnected account.
- Deletes server-side saved recaps associated with your Trailume profile.
- Prevents Trailume from making future Strava API calls for that connection unless you connect Strava again.
What Disconnect Does Not Remove
- Browser-local saved recaps stored on your device.
- Snapshot PNG files or map PNG files you already downloaded.
- Data that remains in your Strava account or any place where you shared exported files.
Delete Trailume Profile
To delete your Trailume profile, open Account settings while connected and choose Delete my Trailume profile. You will need to type DELETE in the confirmation dialog before the final delete button is enabled.
- Removes server-side Trailume account data for the authenticated profile.
- Removes server-side saved recaps for the authenticated profile.
- Removes stored Strava token records and Strava connection records from Trailume.
- Removes Trailume sessions and OAuth state records tied to your sessions.
- Clears the active Trailume session through the backend and signs you out.
- Redirects you to the public landing page.
Temporary Saved Recap Retention
Account-saved Strava-derived recaps are temporary and expire after 7 days. Generated narrative output may be stored as part of the saved recap payload until the recap expires or is deleted.
Expired server-side recaps are no longer available from account history. Browser-local saved recaps are separate and remain controlled by browser storage.
Clear Browser-Local Saved Recaps
Browser-local saved recap history stays on the current browser. During profile deletion, Trailume offers a checked-by-default option to also clear local saved recaps from this browser. You can also delete saved recaps one at a time from the dashboard's Saved recaps section, or clear Trailume site data in your browser settings.
What Trailume Cannot Delete
- Your Strava account or activity data stored by Strava.
- Snapshot PNG files or map PNG files already downloaded to your device.
- Copies of recaps or files you shared outside Trailume.
